Gaelic Football Skills Coaching

Programme Outline

This programme provides Gaelic football skills training to children with developmental coordination disorder and dyspraxia, who may not have had the opportunity to participate in GAA activities at a community level due to coordination difficulties & lack of confidence/support.

Programme Aims

  1. To provide additional GAA skill training for children with developmental coordination disorder and dyspraxia.
  2. To provide opportunities for trainees of Sporting Chance programme to utilise their coaching skills and gain experience

Partner Support

Kerry Recreation & Sports Partnership has joined up with the National Learning Network’s Sporting Chance Programme and Kerry Community Pediatric Occupational Therapy Services (HSE South) and the Kerry County Board to implement this programme.

In a county that is football mad, this programme gives children that may fall behind their peers at club or school the opportunity to get some extra skills training and keep them in the game for life
